Australia's biggest ever parcel delivery day this Monday

Australia Post is anticipating the biggest delivery day in the nation's history tomorrow, with over two million parcels moving through the network as Christmas Day draws near.
Since October, Australia Post has experienced unprecedented early volumes, already processing over one million parcels every day, as consumers take advantage of pre-Christmas sales and a surge in parcels from China, the UK and the USA.
The record breaking day will see more posties and delivery drivers out on the road tomorrow, supported by an additional 1,500 people assisting across processing facilities.
Australia Post Executive General Manager Parcels, and StarTrack CEO, Bob Black said the increase in numbers is driven by the boom in online shopping, with more people opting to purchase Christmas gifts online than ever before.
"We're finding close to 30 per cent of all online purchases occur in the three months leading up to Christmas, and that's on the back of a 15.9 per cent growth in online shopping this year," Mr Black said.
"Of those purchases, fashion, and toys and games are the most popular purchases, as we see people get more organised for Christmas which is only 14 sleeps away.
"To help our customers receive their online Christmas gifts, we've kept our Post Offices open longer, commenced evening and weekend deliveries, and purchased an additional 10,000 parcel cages – which is around 227 semi-trailers worth of Christmas goodies.
"It's all hands on deck here at Australia Post."
As always, customers are urged to lodge their parcels as soon as possible for delivery before Christmas Day – but Australia Post's range of Express Post items does make it easier for last-minute shopping.

2016 Asian International Stamp Exhibition Opens in S China

Exhibitions of precious stamps and stamps with the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac were held at the China 2016 Asian International Stamp Exhibition at Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Nanning City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on December 2. The event also included a national post office culture exhibition.

Eleven themed post offices from across the nation participated in the exhibition, including the Disney Post Office, Yin Dynasty Ruins Post Office and the Guangxi Bronze Drum Post Office. It was the first time that a minority nationality region had a display at the international philatelic exhibition.

With Guangxi a hub linking China and Southeast Asia, experts said the event is part of efforts to promote the Belt and Road Initiative. More than dozens of countries and regions took part in the event.

Commemorative stamps displayed at the exhibition have two layouts. One selected Zhuang Brocade, a representative handcraft from Guangxi, and hydrangeas, mascot of Zhuang people, as patterns. The other depicted a Western Han bronze phoenix lamp as its main figure.

The exhibition set five themes -- Opening Day, Nanning Day, Youth Day, Chinese Zodiac Day and Closing Day. Organizers invited famed domestic stamp designers to meet philatelists on each theme day. An International philatelic seminar, a 2016 China Postcard Lottery activity, the Youth Postcard Design Competition Awards Ceremony and other activities were also held.

Honorary President of the All-China Philatelic Federation (ACPF) Zhang Huaixi, President of the International Federation of Philately Zheng Bingxian and General Manager of China Post Group Li Guohua attended the event.

Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng gave a speech at the opening ceremony, followed by visits to the Space Post Office and the Red Flag Canal Pavilions by leaders and guests. Chief of the Space Post Office Yang Liwei described the office to the visitors.

"Stamps are a window to different countries and cultures," said ACPF chairperson Yang. "We want to prompt communication between Guangxi and Southeast Asia."

Meng Wenhu, a senior official from Nanning, said "this exhibition works as an engine for Nanning's economy and helps attract more investment from home and abroad".

The ACPF, founded in 1982, is a member of Inter-Asia Philatelic Federation. It has 41 institutional and three million individual members in China.

Mail delivery restored for Southern Manitoba

December 9, 2016: Mail delivery has been restored for residents in Southern Manitoba.

December 8, 2016 – Yellow alert: The severe weather conditions in Southern Manitoba is continuing to impede mail delivery. While every effort is being made to deliver the mail, some customers may not receive mail today. Once the conditions improve, normal delivery will resume.

December 7, 2016 – Red alert: In light of the severe weather conditions in Southern Manitoba, namely the urban and rural areas between Dauphin, Brandon, Winnipeg and Selkirk, including Portage la Prairie, it is not safe to send our delivery agents to deliver mail today. Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it is safe to do so.

С 1 января 2017 года Почта России вносит изменения в порядок приема и обработки нерегистрируемых международных почтовых отправлений, поступающих на территорию РФ, которые мотивируют иностранные почтовые администрации переходить на доставку регистрируемых отправлений. Это позволит повысить уровень клиентского сервиса, обеспечит контроль сроков прохождения почты, повысит сохранность отправлений и позволит бороться с непрозрачными потоками почты, поступающими в Россию из Юго-Восточной Азии не напрямую, а через ряд стран Европы и СНГ.

Сейчас ни интернет-магазины, ни почтовые администрации, ни клиенты не имеют возможности отследить нерегистрируемые отправления в пути их следования. Зачастую пересылка идет морским путем или автотранспортом, через транзитные страны-посредники, что негативно сказывается на сроках доставки, значительно увеличивает риск утери или повреждения отправлений.

Постепенный переход на регистрируемые отправления с 1 января 2017 года позволит потребителям отслеживать по трекингу свои заказы из зарубежных интернет-магазинов на всех этапах пересылки, а Почте России – упорядочить входящие потоки почты в РФ и контролировать соблюдение сроков доставки на территории страны.

Важно, что по новым правилам регистрируемые мелкие пакеты должны быть предсортированы по регионам доставки в РФ еще в стране отправления, а информация о получателе и товаре должна автоматически передаваться по почтовым системам. Это позволит полностью автоматизировать, ускорить процесс приемки, сортировки, прохождения отправлений по территории РФ и выдачи их получателям в почтовых отделениях.

Уведомления о новом порядке приема международных отправлений Почта России отправила всем назначенным почтовым операторам стран, входящих во Всемирный почтовый союз. Национальные почтовые администрации 35 стран мира уже поддержали инициативу Почты России на Всемирном почтовом конгрессе в г. Стамбуле. Необходимость перехода на отправку регистрируемых международных почтовых отправлений также является единой позицией Почты России и ФТС России.

Türk Lirası değer kazansın, altın değer kazansın" çağrısı üzerine başlattıkları kampanyanın ise devam ettiğini belirterek, "Şirketimiz, dövizlerin TL'ye dönüştürülmesi işleminde herhangi bir komisyon almamaktadır. Döviz bozduracak müşterilerimize yüzde 10 kargo indirimi yapılmaktadır. Ayrıca döviz bozduracak müşterilerimizin havale işlemlerinde yüzde 10 indirim uygulanmaktadır. Vatandaşlarımız ePttAVM.com üzerinden seçili ürünlerde yaptıkları alışverişlerde ise yüzde 5 indirim kazanmaktadır" dedi. 2017: Wo findet der nächste Goldrausch im E-Commerce statt?

The national and international rules about postal secrecy – including the 2000 Postal Services Act in the UK - do not allow Asendia to see the contents of the mailings handed over by our customers; Only the sender, the printer, mailing house and the recipient can see it. 

As part of Asendia’s general terms and conditions, our customers are required to ensure mail items meet all relevant laws and regulations. We have fully cooperated with Trading Standards, and will cease supplying any company guilty of breaking the law. 

We face a big challenge in keeping up to date with the evolving practises fraudsters use. Like with other media - email, SMS, telephone, online, etc – fraudsters using mail are becoming more innovative, and we are also dealing with businesses all over the world which adds to the complexity. However, Asendia is committed to help ensure that the postal system is not abused, and we will be working closely with other postal operators involved in the supply chain and all competent authorities to identify how the industry can tackle this issue even better. Plus we continue to support agencies, such as the Trading Standards, to increase detection of scam mail.
