China Post Expands Cooperation with Lazada2016-12-20
China Post signed a strategic cooperative agreement with Lazada, the biggest cross-border e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, on December 7 in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, marking the launch of a new service model by the two groups.
The two parties will optimize present cross-border logistics services, implement online distribution and improve delivery effectiveness to provide better services for e-commerce customers.
In addition, China Post and Lazada will expand cooperation in finance, warehousing, training, market development and other fields.
Lazada Group is a privately owned Singaporean e-commerce company founded by Rocket Internet in 2011. As of 2014, Lazada Group had operated sites in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and had raised approximately US$647 million over several investment rounds from investors such as Tesco, Temasek Holdings, Summit Partners, JPMorgan Chase, Investment AB Kinnevik and Rocket Internet. Its sites were launched in March 2012 with a business model of selling inventory to customers from its own warehouses.
China Post signed a cooperative agreement with Lazada in July for joint China-Southeast Asia cross-border post and delivery services. After a five-month trial run, services continue to be optimized, with satisfaction from buyers and sellers increasing greatly.
